The sixth Connecticut Writing Project Student and Teacher Writing Conference will take place at the University of Connecticut on Wednesday, May 20, 2009. We are currently accepting proposals from TC’s and other skilled trainers who are interested in presenting writing workshops. Presenters will lead a 75-minute workshop to be presented both in the morning and the afternoon. Participants will consist of students grades six through twelve and teachers. We plan to limit each session to a maximum of 15 participants though we may have to adjust that number based on registrations.

Past workshop genres have included fiction, song writing, poetry, personal memoir, personal narrative, storytelling, drama, journalism, poetry slam, and science fiction. There have been many requests to add mystery and fantasy writing workshops.

In keeping with CWP philosophy, presenters should include time in their workshop sessions so that participants can write in each session and share that writing.

Presenters will receive a $300 honorarium.

Proposals may be brief and in outline form. We invite you to submit yours by completing the Call for Presenters Form and sending it by Wednesday, January 21, 2009. They may be emailed to nkeane@griswold.k12.ct.us or janecook@earthlink.net or mailed to Nadine Keane, Griswold High School, 267 Slater Avenue, Griswold, CT 06351.

Thank you,
Jane Cook
