Readers’ Theater: A Dynamic Way to Intergrate the Curriculum and Motivate Reluctant Readers

This participatory workshop, for K-12 teachers, reading teachers, and special ed teachers will hook you on the many benefits of Readers’ Theater.  Participants will learn how to perform, create, and extend Readers’ Theater scripts in order to help students develop reading fluency, higher-order thinking skills, interpretive and inferential reading skills, and confidence in their ability to read any text.

Presenter: Lynn Hoffman

Brief Bio: Lynn Hoffman is a playwright and language arts consultant.  She has presented numerous workshops on Readers’ Theater for school districts and museums in New England, as well as for IRA, NERA, CRA, and NELMS.  Lynn has been a Teacher Consultant for the Connecticut Writing Project since 1991.  Currently, she is the In-Service Project Leader.
