We are pleased to announce that the Connecticut Writing Project-Storrs has been selected to receive a 2016-17 Advanced Institute to Scale Up NWP’s College-Ready Writers Program grant in the amount of $20,000. The purpose of this grant is to invest in 12 – 16 experienced middle and high school Writing Project teacher-leaders through an Advanced Institute to take place during the summer of 2016 and continue during the 2016-17 school year for a minimum of 30 hours. At least two-thirds of the participating TCs will teach in a high-need school or have experience teaching in a high-need school. Our director, Jason Courtmanche, will be travelling to Washington D.C. with teacher-consultants Danielle Pieratti and Elizabeth Simison March 18-19 for a Launch Meeting of the CRWP Advanced Institute sites.
